Entrepreneurs and Experts to Discuss Future of Labor Market at Ventspils Technical School

On May 22, 2026 Ventspils Technical School will host "Lunch with Entrepreneurs" – an event bringing together entrepreneurs, industry experts, and representatives from state and local governments. The gathering aims to foster discussion on labor market challenges, the role of vocational education, and the development of Latvia's future workforce.

​The event's primary objective is to facilitate an open dialogue among entrepreneurs, educational institutions, and policymakers. This collaboration seeks to identify practical solutions for training specialists required by the labor market and for advancing human capital development.
Attendees will include Kristīne Vāgnere-Davidova, Director of Ventspils Technical School; Jānis Vītoliņš, Chairman of the Ventspils State City Council; Rolands Ozols, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science; Baiba Bašķere, Director of the Human Capital Development Department at the Ministry of Economics; alongside representatives from various businesses and industry organizations.
The event will begin with experts and industry leaders outlining current labor market trends, challenges in vocational education, and essential skills for the future workforce. The second part of the program will feature participants discussing the realities of the labor market, sharing experiences, and seeking practical solutions for more effective cooperation and the development of a skilled workforce.
