"Pet Science Develop" Opens Pet Food Production Facility in Ventspils

​On 19 June 2026, in the presence of representatives of the Ventspils Municipality, national institutions, the Ventspils Freeport Authority and other guests, SIA "Pet Science Develop" officially opened its new pet food production facility in the Ventspils Freeport. With this investment, the company is entering the European premium pet food market as an ambitious and competitive manufacturer.
The opening ceremony highlighted the company's ability to establish and adapt the production facility within a short period of time, equipping it with state-of-the-art technologies and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of pet food manufacturing. The project has also created new jobs, generating significant interest among local residents.
 
Visitors were invited to tour the facility, gaining first-hand insight into the production process and technological solutions employed at the plant. The tour showcased the entire manufacturing cycle – from the processing of raw materials to the packaging of finished products and their preparation for distribution.
The new factory will specialise in the production of premium-quality dog and cat food made from healthy, nutrient-rich ingredients and free from artificial preservatives and colourings.
The total investment in the project amounts to approximately EUR 15 million. In the first phase, the facility is expected to produce up to 10,000 tonnes of finished products annually. A second development phase, planned for 2027, will double production capacity to 20,000 tonnes per year.
