Two New Manufacturing Building Projects Apply for Funding Under an Additional EU Programme10/5/2026 Author: Municipal Institution “Ventspils Port” The Council of Ventspils State City Municipality decided to support the submission of two municipal project applications in another project call announced by the Central Finance and Contracting Agency, thereby applying for funding under the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme. On 9 April 2026, the Council had already approved the submission of two project applications for the construction of new manufacturing buildings under the EU funding programme measure 6.1.1.3 “Support for the Development of Public Infrastructure Necessary for Business, Promoting the Transition to a Climate-Neutral Economy.”
This time, the Council has also decided to submit the manufacturing building projects under the third selection round of the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 measure 5.1.1.1 “Infrastructure for Business Support,” thereby increasing the opportunities to attract EU funding for the construction of the manufacturing facilities. The projects prepared for submission are “Construction of a Manufacturing Building at 99 Ganību Street, Ventspils” and “Construction of a Manufacturing Building at Ventspils High Technology Park 4, Ventspils.” Both projects envisage the construction of buildings suitable for a wide range of industrial activities, each with an area of approximately 4,400 m². If one or both of the manufacturing building projects receive co-financing from the EU support fund, a tenant will be sought for the future facility. The lease rights for the building will be granted through a public auction process. The goal of Ventspils State City Municipality is to promote industrial development by creating favourable conditions for attracting investment to the city of Ventspils. The implementation of such significant industrial development projects plays an important role in strengthening the city’s economy and creating new jobs.
