Ventspils plans to implement various digital solutions to ensure a more efficient heat production process

​Specialists from the municipal company "Ventspils siltums" met in person with representatives of "WILL SENSORS" to discuss possible solutions for the digitalization of the district heating system.
The manufacturing and other industries are characterized by increasingly specific requirements for the application of information and communication technologies. Currently, the latest technological solutions offer various solutions in the fields of digitalization and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), which can improve the heat energy production process, ensuring the security, continuity, and monitoring of the heating supply.

​As the Industrial Internet of Things uses a wide range of measuring instruments, from basic sensors (such as temperature, pressure, lighting, etc.) to consumption meters, including smart heat energy meters, as well as complex integrated systems, it allows for the rapid acquisition of information about various sensor-equipped objects or devices and remote control of them.
Arnis Uzaris, the chairman of the board of the municipal company "Ventspils siltums," points out that the implementation of the latest technological solutions is also crucial for the efficient provision of the heat energy production process, as remote infrastructure monitoring allows for tracking the automation process of equipment and identifying issues or the need for repairs in a timely manner. It also provides the possibility of receiving real-time data transmission, comprehensive reports on heat production conditions, and customizable notifications, thereby improving the working environment and business efficiency.
