Ventspils municipality has been constantly improving infrastructure of the city for the past three decades, making sure that both businesses and inhabitants have a convenient and well-arranged city infrastructure at their disposal. The industrial zones and the whole city is equipped with powerful high-quality utilities that can be adjusted to the ideas of investors.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

Stable and constant electric power supply is provided to the city and industrial companies by three 110 kV transmission line paths from 330 kV node substations, and the 330 kV line opened in 2014.
Latvia has open electric power market (Nordpool). There are several suppliers of electricity in Latvia, including Elektrum, Enefit, Tet, Baltkom and others.

WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE

The industrial objects of Ventspils can connect to the centralized water and sewerage system of the city. Excellent quality water is being supplied from underground artesian wells. Municipal company “Ūdeka” provides water supply and sewerage services in the city.
Costs at present: water supply 0.83 EUR/m³ + VAT, sewage 1.33 EUR/m³ + VAT.  ​

HEATING

Centralized heat supply is available to clients in Ventspils. Municipal company “Ventspils siltums” provides efficient and environment-friendly energy producing technologies with biomass fuels, thus optimizing the heat production costs. Costs at present: 54.90 EUR/MWh + VAT.

GAS SUPPLY

Liquid petroleum gas (LPG, i.e. propane and propane-butane), industrial gas and liquid natural gas (LNG) from various suppliers is available for manufacturing purposes.

INTERNET AND TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK

Telecommunications, mobile telecommunications, including 4G and 4G+ support and mobile office solutions, Internet services are being provided by several companies. Ventspils has excellent cellular network coverage.
Latvia is among TOP 5 countries in the world according to the average Internet speed. Ventspils is connected to the international telecommunication network with two  independent optical submarine cables, as well as four major terrestrial optical lines. All major parts of Ventspils have optical cable connection with a total length of 48 km. The city has a network with 600 WiFi spots to provide free Internet access to inhabitants and visitors.
