Turnover and export amount of Ventspils companies of manufacturing industries increased in 2022

According to the information provided by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia, in 2022 the turnover of manufacturing industry companies working in Ventspils amounted to 390 million EUR, thus reaching a new milestone. This is the highest number in the history of Ventspils.

Manufacturing companies have increased their turnover considerably – only five years ago the turnover was 177 million EUR. As compared to the previous year, 2021, turnover of manufacturing industry in Ventspils increased by 47 million EUR, or 14%.

The majority of the production of Ventspils manufacturing industry, 89%, was exported. Export volume has increased, as compared to 2021 when it was 83%.

In 2022, companies working in the area of metalworking and mechanical engineering produced manufacturing production that cost 145 million EUR. As compared to 2021, companies of this area produced 28% more in 2022. Major metalworking and mechanical engineering companies in Ventspils are “Bucher Municipal”, “Malmar Sheet Metal”, “Ventspils welding plant”, “Kalmeta”, “TC Steel”.

​Ventspils City has the highest result in manufacturing production among the state cities, calculated per capita. Ventspils is second best among state cities, with the exception of the capital Riga, as regards turnover of manufacturing industry production.
